Close vs HubSpot: which is right for you?
Features, pricing and fit, compared from a cold calling point of view. Not affiliated with either tool.
Close and HubSpot are both CRMs that let reps call from inside the record, but they are built for different jobs. Close is a CRM centered on calling, email and SMS, with its own power dialer and a predictive dialer on its top plan. HubSpot is a wider customer platform whose Sales Hub adds in-browser calling, call recording and email sequences on top of a CRM. This page sets out what each vendor says on its own site.

The short answer
Here is who each of Close and HubSpot suits best, from what each vendor says on its own site.
- Your reps spend most of the day on the phone and you want a power dialer, or a predictive dialer on the Scale plan, built into the CRM.
- You want call lists to be saved Smart Views that filter by lead status, time since the last call, pending tasks and local time.
- You want per-seat prices that start low, with Close listing Solo at $9, and you accept that calling and SMS usage is billed on top.
- You want one platform for contacts, deals, email sequences and reporting, with a free CRM and a 14-day trial of the sales tools to start.
- You already run HubSpot for marketing, or you rely on its more than 2,000 listed integrations.
- Calling is one part of your day rather than all of it, and in-browser calls with recording and automatic logging are enough.

Frequently asked questions
At the entry level HubSpot Sales Hub lists Starter at $20 per seat per month and Close lists Solo at $9. For dialing the comparison shifts, since Close lists its power dialer on Growth at $99 and its predictive dialer on Scale at $139. Close bills calling and SMS on top, and HubSpot credits and capacity packs can add to the total.
Close does. Its power dialer calls the next lead when a call ends, and its predictive dialer places several calls at once. HubSpot's pages describe calling from the account, recording and logging, but they do not describe a power dialer or parallel dialing, so we make no claim either way.
Close lists a 14-day trial with no credit card, though its pricing page does not say which plan the trial covers. HubSpot lists a 14-day free trial of its sales tools and also advertises a free CRM, which is separate and has no end date on its home page.
HubSpot's Sales Hub page lists up to 5 HubSpot-provided phone numbers and up to 12,000 calling minutes per account per month, and says calling is not supported in all countries. The Close pages we read do not state a similar cap, so ask Close about volume as well.
Close uses Smart Views, saved filters that the dialer works through in order. HubSpot works from lists and views of contacts, and its calling happens from the contact record. Neither list is made for you, so what you load into it decides who gets dialed.
Both publish per-seat prices, so a small team can budget without a sales call. Close fits a small team that lives on the phone. HubSpot fits one that also wants marketing and service tools on the same data. Our records on both are thin on team size limits, so check each plan page.
Close lists Gmail, HubSpot, Calendly, Zoom, Zapier, Make, Clay, Claude, ChatGPT, Fivetran and WhatsApp, among others. HubSpot lists more than 2,000 integrations and names Gmail, Zoom and Zapier. Close lists HubSpot as an integration, but check what syncs before you rely on it.
No. Neither has a native integration, so you check the contacts by CSV first. Will This Person Answer checks US phone numbers only, and your first 250 contacts are free with no card required.
Upload the list to Will This Person Answer and keep the outcome column. Name it custom.Answer outcome so Close puts it in a custom field on import, then filter the calling Smart View on it. Close's import guide covers the 15MB file limit and matching on a field such as company name.
Export a list of the contacts you plan to call as a CSV, check it, then import the results as a contact property, matching on email or record ID. Call High chance contacts, enroll Low chance ones in an email sequence, and keep Bad data out of calling.
