How it works

From Clay table to graded list.

Step 1

Add the column in Clay

1Add enrichment › HTTP APIAdd an HTTP API column to your table.

2Set the method and EndpointUse POST and https://app.willthispersonanswer.com/api/v1/analyze.

3Add your key and the rowUnder Headers, add Authorization with the value Bearer and your API key. In the body, send contacts as a one-row array with first_name, last_name and phone pointing at your columns.

4Pick Field PathsReturn results[0].grade and results[0].reason as their own columns. Clay sends one row per call, so results always has one entry.

Run it on your rows

Run the columnEach row calls the API once and writes the grade back beside it.

Column guide

Which Clay column to grade.

Column names in Clay vary by plan and setup. Here’s what to send, whatever yours are called.

Phone field	What to do	Why
Your mobile phone column	Send this first	Whatever your mobile phone enrichment writes to. Only mobiles can be A1.
Work or direct phone	Send if there’s no mobile	A desk line. It can be graded, but it can’t be A1.
Company phone	Usually skip	A main company line, so it rarely reaches the person.

HTTP API is only on some Clay plans, and each call may use Clay actions. Check your plan.

Grading uses Will This Person Answer credits: one per graded contact.
Only US phone numbers are graded. Other rows are skipped and not charged.
