How Will This Person Answer handles your account, your billing, and the phone numbers you send us.
Effective 20 August 2026
1.Who this covers
This policy covers Will This Person Answer at willthispersonanswer.com: the free single-number checker on the home page, and the account where you buy credits and verify lists.
Questions about anything here go to support@willthispersonanswer.com.
2.Information we collect
Account information. Your email address and the information needed to keep you signed in. You sign in with an email address and a password; passwords are handled by our authentication provider and we never see them. We do not ask for your name, your company or a phone number.
Billing information. The credits you have bought, what they cost, the payment identifiers our payment processor returns to us, and a record of credits added and used. We do not receive or store your card number, expiry date or security code - those are entered on the payment processor's own page and never reach us.
Data you submit. The CSV file you upload, the column you told us holds phone numbers, and the validation results we produce from it.
Free checker usage. To stop one person running up an unlimited bill, we count checks against a one-way hash derived from the network address the request came from, combined with a secret only our servers hold. We do not store the address itself, and these counters are deleted after two days.
We do not run advertising trackers, and we do not buy information about you from anybody else.
3.How we use your information
We use what we collect to:
- run the service - verifying the numbers you send us and returning the results;
- keep you signed in and show you your own files and results;
- sell you credits, apply them to your account and keep an accurate record of them;
- protect the service from abuse, including rate-limiting the free checker;
- reply to you when you contact us;
- meet our legal and accounting obligations.
We do not sell your personal information. We do not share it for advertising, and we do not use the phone numbers you upload for any purpose other than answering the question you asked about them.
4.How we process an uploaded file
When you upload a CSV, the service:
- reads it to find the column holding phone numbers;
- takes the unique, non-blank values in that column - blanks are skipped, and the same number appearing twice is treated as one;
- sends those phone numbers to a specialist phone-validation provider, which is how the service is able to answer at all;
- stores the result for each number;
- builds a copy of your file with the results added, and keeps it privately against your account for you to download.
Only the phone numbers leave us. The other columns in your file - names, companies, anything you keep alongside them - are never sent to the provider, and come back to you untouched in the result file.
5.Third-party services
Running this service means relying on a small number of specialist companies: for authentication, for hosting, for payment processing, and for phone validation. Each receives only what it needs to do its part, and each has its own privacy policy governing what it does with it.
We do not name our suppliers here, but we will tell you what any of them receives if you ask.
6.Cookies and tracking
We use essential cookies to keep you signed in, and for nothing else. There is no advertising cookie, no analytics script and no third-party tracking pixel on this site.
7.Data storage and security
Connections to the site use HTTPS, and your data is encrypted at rest by the infrastructure we run on.
Uploaded files and results are stored privately. They are not reachable through any public link, and one account cannot reach another's files: every download is checked server-side against the signed-in account that owns it.
Your credit balance and payment records can only be changed by our own server-side processes - never from a browser, including yours.
No system is perfect, and we are not going to claim certifications we do not hold.
8.How long we keep your data
We keep your account, uploaded files and results for as long as your account is open, or until you ask us to remove them. Nothing is deleted automatically on a schedule, and we would rather tell you that plainly than quote a retention period the service does not actually apply.
The counters behind the free checker's rate limit are the exception: those are deleted after two days.
Records of payments we have taken are kept for as long as we need them to meet our accounting and legal obligations.
9.Your rights
You can ask us to:
- give you a copy of the personal information we hold about you;
- correct anything that is wrong;
- delete your account, your uploaded files and your results;
- stop processing your information, where the law gives you that right.
There is no delete button in the product yet, so email support@willthispersonanswer.com from the address you signed up with. We will respond within 30 days, and we will not charge you for it. Exercising any of these rights will never cost you your access to the service while your account is open.
10.Data breach notification
If a breach affects your personal information, we will notify you and the relevant authorities as required by applicable law, and we will tell you what we know and what we are doing about it.
11.Children's privacy
The service is a business tool and is not intended for children under 18. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has given us information, email support@willthispersonanswer.com and we will remove it.
12.Changes to this policy
We may update this policy from time to time. Material changes will be posted here with a new effective date at the top of the page. Continuing to use the service after a change means the updated policy applies.
13.Contact us
support@willthispersonanswer.com reaches us for anything about your data, including a request to see it or delete it. Bulk verification is limited to 10,000 numbers per file; the same address handles larger volumes.
