Terms
What you can expect from Will This Person Answer, and what we expect from you.
Effective 20 August 2026
The service
Will This Person Answer tells you whether a phone number is real and assigned. There are two ways to use it: a free check of one number at a time on the home page, and an account where you buy credits and verify a whole list at once by uploading a CSV.
Credits
- One credit pays for one validation of one unique phone number.
- Credits are bought in advance, from 100 credits ($30.00). The price per credit depends on how many you buy at once, from $0.30 down to $0.15. The rate that applies is the one shown on the pricing page at the time of purchase, and it is fixed for that purchase.
- Credits do not expire.
- Credits are held when a file starts verifying and spent when it finishes. Blank cells cost nothing, and the same number appearing more than once in a file uses one credit, not several.
This is not a subscription. Nothing renews, nothing recharges automatically, and there is nothing to cancel.
Payments
Payments are processed by Stripe. You enter your card details on Stripe's page, and we never receive or store your card number. Credits appear in your account once Stripe confirms the payment to us - arriving back on our site after paying is not the same thing, and we wait for the confirmation.
Verifying a list
A self-serve file may contain up to 10,000 unique phone numbers. Larger lists are still welcome - email support@willthispersonanswer.com and we will help you run them.
We show you how many credits a file needs before you commit, and you get your own file back with our results added to it. Your original rows, columns and ordering are preserved.
What the results mean, and what they don't
We report on the technical status of a phone number: whether it is valid and assigned, and details such as line type, carrier and country. That information comes from third-party and telecommunications data, and we do not guarantee that it is complete or correct in every case.
A number we report as existing is not a promise that anybody will answer it, that a particular person owns it, that a message will be delivered, or that calling it is lawful in your situation. Deciding whether and how to contact somebody remains yours.
Sometimes we cannot get an answer at all - a provider may be unavailable or unable to return a result. When that happens the result says so, marked as unknown rather than reported as a number that does not exist. We would rather tell you we do not know.
Using the service properly
You agree not to:
- use the service for anything unlawful, or in a way that breaks the rules that apply to you for contacting people;
- upload data you have no right to process;
- work around access controls, rate limits or the per-file limit;
- try to disrupt the service or the systems it runs on;
- resell or redistribute the service as if it were your own.
If an account is used this way we may suspend it. We will tell you why.
Your account
Keep your sign-in details to yourself; anything done through your account is treated as done by you. You can ask us to close your account and remove your data at any time by emailing support@willthispersonanswer.com.
Availability
We aim to keep the service running and to process every paid job, but we do not promise uninterrupted availability. The service depends on other companies - our validation provider, our payment processor, our hosting and our database - and an outage at one of them can stop work for a while. Verification runs in the background and picks up where it left off, so you do not need to keep a page open.
If a job fails after we have already paid to check some of your numbers, the credits stay held against that job and you can restart it without paying again.
Changes to these terms
If these terms change we will update the effective date at the top of the page. Continuing to use the service after a change means the updated terms apply.
