Data enrichment tools for complete records.
Data enrichment tools fill in missing emails, phone numbers and company details on a list you already have. See how they differ and what each vendor says it adds, from its own pages.
Enrichment starts with a list that is missing something, such as a mobile number, a verified email or a job title, and adds it from one or more data sources. Some tools use their own database. Others query many providers and take the first match.
Because enrichment sits between a list and the tools that use it, how it hands the data back matters as much as what it finds.
What it adds
Check which fields it fills in and which it leaves alone.
Where the data comes from
See whether it uses one database or several providers, and how it says it chooses between them.
How you run it
A spreadsheet-style app, an API and a CRM sync all suit different teams.
What a run costs
Look for whether you pay per attempt or per successful match.

Frequently asked questions
It takes a list that is missing something, such as a mobile number, verified email or job title, and fills the gaps from one or more data sources. You upload a file, connect a CRM or call an API, and get the same contacts back with more fields.
A database is something you search to find new contacts. Enrichment works the other way round: it starts from contacts you already have and adds the fields that are missing, such as a mobile number.
It can add numbers that are wrong, out of date or taken from a weaker source than the one you had. Checking the result catches those before reps dial them.
Waterfall enrichment asks several data providers in turn and keeps the first match. It tends to fill more gaps than one source. It also means a mix of sources with different quality, so the results need checking before you rely on them.
Some tools charge per attempt, others only for successful matches, and some add fees for each provider in the chain. Ask what counts as a used credit and whether failed lookups are refunded. Compare the cost per phone number actually found.
Most tools need an identifier such as a name and company domain, an email address or a LinkedIn URL. Sparse input gives poor matches. Clean company names and domains first, and make sure each row has a stable ID so results map back correctly.
Practices vary. Look at where the vendor says its data comes from, how it handles opt-outs and what its terms allow you to do with the output. Rules such as Do Not Call apply to your calling, not just to the vendor, so ask a lawyer.
Enriching a whole database when only active targets need it, overwriting good existing numbers with worse ones, skipping deduplication, and dialing straight from the output. Keep the original values and add new ones in separate fields.
Run a sample of your own contacts and count the fields filled, then call a few to see if they are right. Check how results are returned, whether a CRM sync is included, and whether you pay when nothing is found.
Enrichment adds numbers but does not say whether anyone will answer them. A check marks each as High chance, Low chance or Bad data, so reps call the best ones first. Will This Person Answer checks US numbers only and starts with 250 free credits.
